Dons bring in Howard from Buddies

Aberdeen are set to officially confirm the signing of goalkeeper Mark Howard from Scottish Premier League rivals St Mirren.[LNB] The 23-year-old lost his place to Paul Gallacher last season, making just two appearances to add to the 50 starts he made in his first two years in Paisley.[LNB]Pittodrie boss Mark McGhee told the Evening Express: "We have signed Mark on a one-year deal.[LNB]"Now the challenge for Mark is to put pressure on Jamie Langfield for that number one jersey."[LNB]Meanwhile, Dons target Evan Horwood was back training with Hartlepool on Monday after a brief visit to Aberdeen.[LNB]The former Carlisle left-back, who played in the SPL during a loan spell with Gretna, trained with Aberdeen on Friday.[LNB]But he had previously agreed to join Hartlepool on their pre-season tour of Holland and flew out on Sunday evening.[LNB]
