An Aberdeen squad featuring six trialists lost 3-1 at Fraserburgh on Saturday, while Inverness, St Johnstone and Hamilton won their friendlies.[LNB] At Fraserburgh, Dons boss Mark McGhee played entirely different teams in each half but lost both to their youthful Highland League opponents.[LNB]One of the trialists, former Carlisle winger Jeff Smith, netted Aberdeen's goal early in the second half with a 22-yard strike that flew in off the crossbar.[LNB]That cancelled out Steven Main's opener, which came after a mix-up between summer signing Rory McArdle and goalkeeper Jamie Langfield, and James Duguid put Fraserburgh ahead before Clark Robertson's own goal.[LNB]Former Huddersfield left-back Robbie Williams, Pakistan midfielder Adnan Ahmed and Togo international Yoann Folly played in the first half.[LNB]Wales Under-21 international left-back Grant Basey played alongside Smith and ex-West Ham youth Conor Okus after the break.[LNB]Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee did not read too much into the defeat and will further assess his trialists next week.[LNB]He told RedTV: "It was two groups of players who haven't played together. There was no individual that you can really point the finger at and say they just didn't look at it.[LNB]"The goals were disappointing but they were a bit unfortunate and 3-1 doesn't really reflect the game.[LNB]"We didn't create enough chances or have enough shots at goal but we're not going home worrying that there's something we're not going to get better at.[LNB]"Fraserburgh matched our fitness and worked very, very hard and did well, but we had a lot of positives out the game, and I certainly learned a lot about the new boys."[LNB]Elsewhere, Eric Odhiambo struck a hat-trick as Inverness won 3-1 at Forres Mechanics.[LNB]Terry Butcher handed a start to full-back Kevin McCann, who joined on loan from Hibernian on Friday, and gave former Newcastle youth defenders Callum Morris and Darren Lough 45 minutes each as they bid to win contracts.[LNB]Former Leeds defender Andy Milne also featured but fellow trialist Gary Mackay-Steven missed out through injury.[LNB]Sam Parkin netted in a 3-1 victory for St Johnstone at Forfar two days after signing a contract at McDiarmid Park.[LNB]The former Luton and Swindon striker, who was released by Walsall at the end of last season, headed home from close range before Liam Craig's penalty and a Kevin Rutkiewicz header secured victory for the Perth side.[LNB]Meanwhile, Jordan Kirkpatrick was on target as Hamilton won 2-0 at Stirling with manager Billy Reid making 11 changes at half-time.
