Diamond hopes hell is behind him

Diamond, 24, has been out since the opening day of the season, initially with a long-standing ankle problem which required surgery and then with a broken nose suffered in a freak accident in training.[LNB]But he is now fully fit and hoping to play some part in Saturday's Scottish Premier League game with Killie.[LNB]"You come back and you break your nose and you wonder if it is your season," he said.[LNB]"Hopefully, with 2009 over now, the six months of hell is behind me.[LNB]"I just want to get back on that pitch.[LNB]"We're coming to the business end of the season and if I can contribute to the team then I'll be very happy."[LNB]Diamond, who revealed he had been "kicking every ball" watching the Dons from the sidelines, added: "It's been a long lay-off.[LNB]"It feels as if I've done three pre-seasons in the one season.[LNB]"I'm delighted to be back in amongst the boys.[LNB]"I can't wait to be involved, hopefully on Saturday.[LNB]"If not then the next coming weeks."[LNB]If Diamond does feature this weekend, it is likely to be from the bench.[LNB]He said: "I'd be unfair to dismantle a team that's done reasonably well.[LNB]"But you're always champing at the bit to get back playing."[LNB][LNB]
