Calderwood amazed by home record

The Dons have not tasted defeat at home in the SPL since October 4 when Hibernian left with all three points. The last time the Hoops travelled to Pittodrie they lost 4-2 and Calderwood believes his side's home form can inspire them to success against the Glasgow giants once more. He said: "We haven't been beaten at home since October. Admittedly, we have drawn too many games during that time but it says an awful lot about the character of the boys to go so long without a defeat. "When I found out that statistic I was amazed and I'm sure some of the supporters may be, too. "We are also currently sitting on more points now than we had at this time last season, which isn't bad considering the criticism we have had." The Dons lost 2-0 at Celtic Park in their last outing a fortnight ago but Calderwood believes the return of energetic midfielder Mark Kerr, following suspension and illness, will be a major boost to his side. "We have had some wonderful matches against Celtic during my time at the club," said Calderwood. "Our poorest performance was probably the other week at Celtic Park when we never created much. "Celtic are going to be without Scott Brown, who is a massive player for them, and we have Mark Kerr coming back, which will give us a huge lift. "I am expecting a much improved performance from the side on Saturday and only time will tell if it will be enough." Calderwood is obviously looking for all three points but conceded that a draw may not be a bad result in the race to qualify for Europe. "A draw may turn out to be a good result for us, depending on what happens elsewhere," he added. "Celtic are on fire at the moment so a draw may give us a boost going into the last four games. If Dundee United and Hearts both lose then it would be a very good point to get." And the Aberdeen boss admitted his goalkeeper Jamie Langfield may have a crucial role to play. He added: "Jamie has absolutely nothing to prove as he has been wonderful and very consistent this season. "He will need to be on top form on Saturday but he has been on top form for the past few weeks." Celtic 4/7, Draw 13/5, Aberdeen 9/2
