Brown is Well impressed

Craig Brown turned down the advances of Aberdeen due to the "exceptional" enthusiasm of his Motherwell squad. The former Scotland boss and his assistant Archie Knox met officials from Aberdeen on Tuesday to discuss the managerial vacancy at Pittodrie and while "very flattered" by the interest, Brown has opted to remain at Fir Park. Brown now hopes to continue the work done in his first year in charge of Well and to add to his playing staff. He told BBC Scotland: "The response from the Motherwell players is exceptional. The enthusiasm of these guys is a very big part in us wanting to stay at Motherwell. "We know we could do with one or two more but when you have a group who do exactly as you tell them, to give that up would be quite a decision."
