Benjelloun frustrates Dons

Substitute Abdessalam Benjelloun put away a late penalty as Hibernian fought back for a 2-2 draw in a dramatic clash with Aberdeen. The Moroccan scored from the spot after Zander Diamond was adjudged to have handled Alan Gow's cross. Anthony Stokes had earlier pulled one back for the home team after first-half goals from Michael Paton and Steven MacLean had given the visitors a two-goal advantage. Paton opened the scoring when Charlie Mulgrew's long free-kick was knocked on by McDonald and he stretched out his leg to divert the ball past a stunned Graeme Smith. And the Dons were two ahead when Paton sent in a speculative shot which recent signing MacLean got his head to and the ball looped over a bemused looking Smith. Hibs got back into the game when Colin Nish flicked on and Stokes' early shot caught out Langfield on its way to the back of the net and they equalised with only three minutes remaining after Diamond made his error and Benjelloun netted from the spot to complete a superb comeback.
