Aberdeen are keeping tabs on RKC Waalwijk central defender Tim Bakens, as Jimmy Calderwood attempts to bolster his squad for next season.
The 25-year-old is out of contract with his current employers and is waiting to hear back from the Pittodrie club.
He told the Press & Journal: "Jimmy Calderwood called me last week to ask if I would be interested in a move to Aberdeen.
"I said I would and he told me he would call me back in a couple of days, but I have not heard anything. He said he was looking at another defender as his first choice but would get back to me if it didn't work out.
"I have been offered a contract with FC Volendam in Holland and I also have an offer to go on trial in Belgium.
"I have received nothing concrete from Aberdeen, but I hope to hear from the club soon so I can make a decision on my future."
