Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood has promised to make wholesale changes to his squad in the summer, after revealing his disappointment at this season's league woes.
The Dons finished third in the SPL last season, but have slipped to ninth this year on the back of a winless league run which stretches back to January 2.
"We've set high standards but they have slipped drastically," he told the Aberdeen Evening Express.
"Maybe a few players have been punching above their weight but are now being found out and when that happens it's time for surgery.
"I'm preparing for a massive turnaround and it's looking like I'll be into double figures in terms of departures."
Meanwhile, Calderwood has warned his players that failure to defeat Motherwell on Wednesday will end their already slim hopes of finishing in the UEFA Cup qualifying places.
"We have never been out the top six since (assistant) Jimmy Nicholl and I took over and we are very proud of that fact," he continued.
"We wanted to get back into Europe but if we don't win on Wednesday night that is probably well-nigh impossible and we are making life difficult for ourselves to get in the top six."
