Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee has been dealt a huge blow after being told winger Sone Aluko faces up to 12 weeks on the sidelines.[LNB] The Nigeria international's leg has been placed in a cast after a specialist in London examined his persistent Achilles problem.[LNB]Aluko's leg will remain in plaster for two weeks and the Dons will then hope to push the winger back to full fitness.[LNB]A statement on the club's official website read: "The initial prognosis is that Sone could face up to 12 weeks on the sidelines, however this is a worst-case scenario and it is hoped that he will make a full recovery sooner rather than later."[LNB]Aluko started both of Aberdeen's SPL wins this season but has missed their subsequent two defeats.[LNB]The 21-year-old is central to McGhee's plans to turn his side into an attacking force following their disappointing ninth-placed finish in the SPL.[LNB]Aluko missed much of the first half of last season through international commitments and several injuries - he picked up an Achilles problem while training with Nigeria Under-20s ahead of their World Cup campaign.[LNB]The winger then underwent stomach surgery in January and struggled with several minor fitness problems after a seven-week lay-off.[LNB]McGhee had been hoping a fit Aluko would come to the fore this season but it could now be close to Christmas before the wide player is fully fit.
