The process of Aberdeen's relocation to its new stadium at Loirston Loch has moved a further step closer following a closing date for offers for the purchase of Pittodrie Stadium having now ended.

Derren McRae, Associate Director in CBRE's Aberdeen office, which is marketing the site, said:"I can confirm that we have received offers for the site following last Friday's closing date. We are now at a stage of giving full consideration to the offers received and are in further detailed discussions with the parties who have offered with respect to the various conditions attached to the proposals.Due to the complexity and conditionality of the bids, as is the norm in any residential site sale of this size, it is likely to take a number of weeks to get to the stage of commencing legal negotiations with a preferred bidder."The Aberdeen Football Club board sub-group, in addition to external assistance where appropriate, are working with CBRE in evaluating the bids and commencing further negotiations with the offering parties before deciding on the preferred bidder and ensuring that the best value is obtained from the site."The site consists of Pittodrie Stadium, which has been home to Aberdeen Football Club since 1903, together with two car parks accessed off Pittodrie Street and Golf Road.Aberdeen City Council granted planning in principle for a masterplan for the residential redevelopment site in April 2011.The development will comprise of a total of 350 residential units, consisting of 260 town houses and 90 apartments.
