Aberdeen 4-0 Hamilton: Match Report

14 August 2010 17:31

Paul Hartley scored three penalties in a dream debut to give Aberdeen a 4-0 win over a poor Hamilton side at Pittodrie - their first opening day home win in 16 years.

The former Bristol City and Celtic midfielder netted twice from the spot in the first half after winger Sone Aluko had been fouled in the penalty area by Simon Mensing and Jack Ross respectively.

Defender Zander Diamond added a third six minutes after the break with a clinical finish to put the result beyond doubt before Hartley sealed his hat-trick from the spot after 65 minutes following a foul by Ross on Chris Maguire.
